JOPLIN, MO —

Martin (Marty) R. Clark, 42, of Joplin, Mo., passed away at 7:25 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 5, 2013, at Freeman Hospital in Joplin, following an illness.

Martin was born Sept. 15, 1970, in Joplin, the son of Billy Gene and Irene Elizabeth (DeGonia) Clark. Martin was an over-the-road truck driver for JVF Trucking Company from 1999 to 2011, who he considered a part of his family.  

On May 21, 2011, Martin married Kathryn Buchko in Jasper County, Mo. She survives at the home. They truly had a fairytale marriage that was apparent to all who new them. He was a prince charming and Kathryn was his princess. They started their life over-the-road, but soon came home to build a life of regular factory jobs. He worked at MARS Pet Care and Jasper Products. He was so proud of his brother and wife for all of their recent accomplishments and he will be missed by many.  

Survivors include his wife, Kathryn Clark; mother, Irene Carrier; father, Bill Clark; siblings, Stephen Clark, Ronnie Carrier, Donnie Carrier, Billy Carrier, Charlie Carrier, Kelly Carrier-Prendes and Jennifer Carrier-Neisler; honorary brothers, Johnny Fields, Mark Fields, Mark Whited and Danny Fields; honorary sisters, Jennifer Fields and Julie Fields; niece, Josie Clark; children, Latasha Hill and Nathan Buchko; and grandchildren Kaylie Spanek and Brizn Hill.

Memorial visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 9, at the family home of 2401 East 12th Street Joplin, MO 64801.

In lieu of flowers, the family ask expressions of sympathy be in the form of memorials to the American Heart Association. Memorials may be left at the family's home.

Cremation arrangements are by Midland Cremation Society, of Joplin.
