MEDINA, OH —
Martha Jean Martie Pettit, 57, of Medina, Ohio, passed away May 5, 2012, at 1:28 a.m. at Mercy Hospital in Joplin, Mo., from a short and unexpected illness while visiting her daughter in Sarcoxie, Mo.
She was born Sept. 27, 1954, in Columbia, Mo., the daughter of Dorothy Polaniec and James Timberman. She attended Broadview Heights High School in Brecksville, Ohio. Martha lived in Ohio for most of her life. She moved to Joplin for roughly 20 years before moving back to Ohio in 2004. She worked at Staples in Medina, for the last seven and a half years. Many of her friends called her Pricilla because of her love for Elvis.
She is survived by her daughter, Christina Ross and husband, Derek, of Sarcoxie; three grandchildren, Morgan Pettit, Derek Ross and Cassandra Ross; one great-granddaughter, Aubree Jayde Branstetter; two sisters, Ann Swantek and husband, Joe, of Medina, and Jan Janik and husband, Ken, of Painesville, Ohio; one brother, Jim Timberman; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Cremation has taken place.
Arrangements are under the direction of Midland Cremation Society, Joplin.
