CARTERVILLE, MO —

Elsie G. Danner, 79, passed away on Wednesday, May 16, 2012, at her residence after a lengthy illness.

She was born on March 3, 1933, in Portsmouth, Va., to Cecil H. Burns and Lola M. Warren.

Elsie married Clarence Danner on Feb. 28, 1957, in Rockville, Md. He survives at home.

Her passion was singing and she was a member of Show Me Harmony Chorus for over 30 years, and a member of two quartets Right Combination and Queen City Sound. Elsie was a homemaker and loved her husband, children and all her grandchildren very much.

She is also survived by her daughters, Victoria Lynn Saul Furlow, of Carterville, Roseann Gizmondy, of Miami, Fla., and Shirley Ann Maynard and husband, Dave, of Oronogo; sons, Ralph E. Danner and wife, Theresia, of Carterville, Mark A. Danner, of Carterville, Darren A. Danner and wife, Debbie, of Carterville, and C. Eric Danner, of Carterville; 17 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 19, at 10 a.m. In the chapel of Simpson Funeral Home in Webb City, with Rev. Kevin McNeely officiating. A visitation will be held on Friday from 6 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be held in Ozark Memorial Park Cemetery in Joplin.

In lieu of flowers, the family prefer memorial contributions to the Carterville United Methodist Church or The Sweet Adelines in her memory.

Services are under the direction of Simpson Funeral Home in Webb City.
