Brad Reed

MARIETTA, GA — David Bradley Reed, age 36, of Marietta, Ga., formerly of Lamar, passed away Saturday, July 3, 2010, at Barton County Memorial Hospital. Brad was born March 15, 1974, at Joplin, Mo., to Ben and Marianne (Harris) Reed. He graduated from Lamar High School in 1992 and earned a degree from Missouri Southern. On Aug. 12, 1995, at Lamar, Brad married Bethaney Ann Shields and they made their home in Lamar, where Brad had worked for O’Sullivan Industries. In 2004, Brad accepted a position as the director of national transportation programs for AmeriCold in Atlanta, and they moved their family to Marietta. Brad was a member of Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church in Marietta and a former member of the Lamar Metro Club. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed sports and hunting, and his greatest joy came from being a dad and spending time with his family. Survivors include his wife Beth and children, Benton, Olivia and Chloe, all of the home; his parents, Ben Reed, Jasper, Mo., and Marianne Reed, Lamar; a brother, Adam and wife Denette Reed, and two nieces, Whittley and Marissa Reed, all of Lebanon, Mo.; parents-in-law, Tom and Ann Shields, Lamar; sister-in-law, Kim Shields, Jefferson City, Mo.; maternal grandmother, Mary Jo Harris, Lamar; paternal grandmother, Donna Reed, Lockwood, Mo.; a large extended family; and a host of friends. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, July 6, at Lamar United Methodist Church with burial in Lake Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Monday, July 5, at Daniel Funeral Home. Memorial contributions are suggested to the American Cancer Society (Lamar Relay for Life) or Wesley Chapel in care of Daniel Funeral Home. Condolences may be sent on-line at
