JOPLIN, Mo. —
Jackalene L. Kennedy, age 82, of Joplin, passed away at 8:10 a.m. on Friday, July 5, 2013, at Freeman West Hospital.
Born May 7, 1931, in Webb City, Mo., she was the daughter of the late Harry and Lola Fulhart Benfield and lived in Joplin most of her lifetime. She was raised in Galena, Kan. and had lived in San Francisco, Calif. For many years, Jackalene worked as a welder for Lozier Corp.
She married William K. Kennedy on Nov. 25, 1981, at Miami, Okla. He still resides in Joplin.
Additional survivors include five daughters, Ellen Goodwin and husband, Leonard, of Webb City, Denise Ferguson, of Joplin; twins, Paula Foreman with husband, Curtis and Carla Crow, both of Santa Maria, Calif., Connie Henson, of Torrance, Calif; a brother, David Benfield, of Killeen, Texas; a sister, Evadean Hatcher, of Houston, Texas; 10 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a brother, Clifford; a sister, Norma; two great-grandchildren, Meshele and Riley.
Graveside services will be held 10 a.m. Tuesday at Ozark Memorial Park with Rev. Bob Simon officiating.
Arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary.
