JOPLIN, MO —

David O. Bryan, age 62, of Joplin, passed away at 3:01 a.m. on Tuesday, May 8, 2012, at his home.

Born Aug. 15, 1949, in Kansas City, Mo., he was the only child of the late Orland Bryan and Pauline Zupan Bryan Clugston. David received his Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Missouri at Rolla, and retired from General Motors with 25 years of service. He moved to Joplin three years ago and attended Covenant World Outreach in Carthage.

He is survived by his wife, Patricia A.(McClain) Bryan, from Kansas City, Kan. They were married almost 40 years.

Additional survivors include three daughters, Joyce Ann Schneider and husband, Scott, of Joplin, Deborah Rose Andrada and husband, Aaron, of Southaven, Miss., and Cherie Marie Allison and husband, Grant, of Park City, Kan.; one son, Aaron David Bryan and wife, Thea, of Omaha, Neb.; and five grandchildren.

The family will receive friends preceding the service on Saturday, beginning at 1 p.m. at the mortuary. Then funeral services will be held 4 p.m. Saturday at Parker Chapel with Pastors James Perkins and Gary Giddings officiating, after which, the body will be taken for cremation.

Memorial contributions may be made to American Heart Association or Covenant World Outreach in care of the mortuary.
