MONETT, Mo. —
Maxine was born on Oct. 18, 1925, in Pierce City, Mo., the daughter of Guy Noble and Ora Ellen (Shepherd) Essex.
She attended high school in Bloomington, Ill. She had retired from Cox Monett Hospital as an office clerk. She was a member of the Saint Lawrence Catholic Church in Monett, where she was involved in the P.C.C.W. Maxine was also an avid reader.
On Aug. 29, 1958, Maxine and John A. Wrobleski were united in marriage. He preceded her in death on May 9, 1977. Also preceding her in death were her parents; and two brothers, Dean Essex and Paul Essex.
Maxine is survived by one son, Joe Simmons, of Joplin; one daughter, Joan Wrobleski, of Overland Park, Kan.; her special children, Ron and Sheryl Knight; two grandchildren, Gregory Simmons and wife Amy, of Monett and Mary Ann Simmons and fiancée Eric Dunn, of Saint. Louis, Mo.; three great-grandchildren, Christopher Simmons, Katherine Simmons and Maya Simmons;, and the fourth great-grandchild expected on June 26, 2012; two sisters, Dorris Gaddy, of Springfield, Mo., and Mildred Welsandt, of Monett.
Funeral mass will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, May 14, 2012, at the Saint. Lawrence Catholic Church in Monett. Father Paul McLoughlin and Father Daniel Robles will officiate. Interment will follow in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Monett. Rosary will be held at 6 p.m. on Sunday evening with visitation to follow until 7 p.m. at the Buchanan Funeral Home Chapel. Memorial contributions are established to the Saint. Lawrence Catholic School in care of the funeral home.
Arrangements are under the personal care and direction of Buchanan Funeral Home, Monett.
