Mrs. Betty Lou Boothe, 91, of Sarcoxie, Mo., departed this life on Sunday afternoon, April 29, 2012, at the Sarcoxie Nursing Center in Sarcoxie,  after a brief illness.
Betty entered this life on April 20, 1921, in in Reeds, Mo., born to the late Archie and Mabel Dodson. She was raised in Reeds, and was a lifelong resident of this area.
On Jan. 15, 1939, she was united in marriage to William Bradford "Brad" Boothe and to this union a son and daughter were born.  Besides being a homemaker, Betty worked at Juvenile Shoe, was a cook at Sarcoxie Elementary School and was an EMT with the Sarcoxie Volunteer Ambulance Service. She and Brad also owned Pla-Mor Bowl on the south side of the Sarcoxie square. She enjoyed bowling, crocheting, fishing, gardening and playing bingo. Betty was a longtime faithful member of Freedom Christian Fellowship Church in Sarcoxie. 
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 68 years, Brad Boothe on Nov. 12, 2007; two sisters, Alma Lee Wooten and Dorothy Marie Velten; and four brothers, Leon, Leroy, Delmar and Lloyd Dodson.  
Betty is survived by a daughter, Janice Craig and husband, Lyndol, of Sarcoxie; a son, Glen Boothe and wife, Phyllis, of Carthage, Mo.; three grandsons, Terry Boothe and wife, Scherry, of Sarcoxie, Dr. Randy Craig and wife, Samantha, of Joplin, Mo., and Chris Craig and wife, Candy, of Johnson City, Tenn.; five great-grandchildren, Blake Boothe, Cooper Craig, Garrett Craig, Brodie Adams and Hannah Craig; two step grandsons, Eddie Osborn, of Sarcoxie,  and Mike Osborn of Joplin; one great-great-granddaughter, Austin Boothe; several nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other family and friends.  
Funeral services for Mrs. Boothe are 10 a.m. Wednesday, May 2,  at the Freedom Christian Fellowship Church in Sarcoxie, with Pastor Wayne Rose officiating.  Burial will follow in the Sarcoxie Cemetery. Those honoring her life by serving as pallbearers are Randy Craig, Chris Craig, Terry Boothe, Blake Boothe, Cooper Craig, Rodney Reynolds and Jordan Clayton.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are being directed to the Freedom Christian Fellowship Church or FCF Community Outreach and contributions may be left at the funeral home.
