JOPLIN, MO —
John C. Colson Jr., age 83, of Joplin, passed away at 12:20 a.m. on Wednesday, May 2, 2012, at Freeman West Hospital.
Born Dec. 22, 1928, in Joplin, he was the son of the late John C. Colson Sr.and Betty Stotts Colson. He graduated from Joplin High School and worked as Prudential insurance agent for 18 years. He was a member of South Joplin Christian Church.
On June 7, 1945, he married Wilma E. Colson in Carl Junction, Mo. She preceded him in death Feb. 6, 2011.
Survivors include a son, Gary Colson and wife, Karen, of Joplin; two sisters, Wanda Wolfe, of Grove, Okla., and Joyce Devillers, of Joplin; three grandchildren, Tamara, Garyn and Nathan Colson; and five great-grandchildren, Gage Haskew, Taryn, Taylor and Alyx Colson and Madison Sohosky.
Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m Tuesday. at Ozark Memorial Park Cemetery with Rev. Hank Deslotte officiating.
