Myron (David) Osborn

KINGWOOD, Texas. —

Myron (David) Osborn, passed away Sunday, Jan. 19, 2014, in Kingwood, Texas. 
He was preceded in death by his wife, Doris Byler Osborn. At the time of her passing, Myron and Doris had been married 53 years. 
Myron was born on Sept. 4, 1930, in Laura, Ohio, to the union of Ralph J. and Goldie (Cummins) Osborn. He was a 1948, graduate of Riverton High School where he participated in football and basketball. He was a member of the Riverton High School Alumni Association, in which he made a generous donation to the Scholarship Fund. He was very interested in Education. 
He served proudly in the US Marine Corps stationed in Hawaii. Myron's professional career began with Spencer Chemicals which eventually became Chevron where he was a chemist. His career took him to Kansas, Pennsylvania and Houston, Texas. He was co-author of four U.S. Patents and two foreign Patents. 
Myron is survived by his son, Ronald and wife, Linda Osborn; daughter, Debbie and husband, Price Cleaver; grandchildren, Matt Cleaver and wife, Alicia and Drew Cleaver; one brother, John C. Osborn and wife, Ottilie, of Galena, Kan.; two sisters, Martha E. Strange, of Wichita, Kan. and Rachel J. Wilson, of Columbus, Kan. He was preceded in death by one brother, Dr. James E. Osborn, DVM; and three sisters, Mary E. Jaeger, Sarah E. Neeley and Rebecca J. Mas. 
In lieu of flowers, please make a contribution to the Myron David and Doris Byler Scholarship Fund. Make checks payable to USD 404 Education Foundation. Mail in care of Riverton High School, Attn: Mary Ann Talbot, P.O. Box 290, Riverton, KS 66770. 
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 25, at Derfelt's Baxter Chapel. Burial will follow in the Baxter Springs Cemetery. Family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until service time on Saturday morning.
