WEBB CITY, Mo. —
Nola Jean Rusk, age 78, of Webb City, passed away at 6:05 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 21, 2014, at the Siloam Springs Nursing and Rehab in Siloam Springs, Ark.
Jeanie was born on July 25, 1935, at her grandparents home near Carthage, to Ralph and Elizabeth Bowman Randall. She grew up on the family farm north of Carthage. She graduated from Carthage High School in 1953, where she was a member of the local 4-H Club. She attended the Mount Moriah Methodist Church with her family, but during high school she was baptized into the Joplin Seventh-Day Adventist Church where she and Don were members for more than 50 years. She faithfully served as a Children's Sabbath School teacher, Home and School Leader, Deaconess, Pathfinder Leader and Floral Coordinator. They made their home in Carterville, but later moved to rural Webb City. She spent the last three years in the Siloam Springs Nursing and Rehab Center, in Siloam Springs.
On May 30, 1955, at the Mount Moriah Methodist Church, Jeanie married her high school sweetheart, Don E. Rusk, who proceeded her in death May 18, 2011.
She leaves behind four children, a son, Robbin Rusk and wife, Cindy, of Sarcoxie, Mo.; three daughters, Brenda Beerly and husband, John, of Carterville, Mo., Pamela Crone and husband, Jimmy, of Gentry, Ark., and Cheryl Livingston and husband, Jimmy, of Zachary, La.; 13 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren and one due in the spring.
The visitation will be held Monday, Jan. 27, from 6 to 7 p.m. at the Mason-Woodard Mortuary Chapel. The funeral service will follow on Tuesday, Jan. 28, at 10 a.m. at the Mason-Woodard Mortuary Chapel. Pastor Larry Cansler, of Joplin, Mo., will be officiating. The burial will follow and will be held in Weaver Cemetery, north of Oronogo, Mo.
