Velda Pryor Judd

ROGERS, Ark. — Velda Pryor Judd, 92, Rogers, Ark., formerly of Diamond, Mo., died Jan. 31, 2014, at Bentonville, Ark., following an extended illness.

Velda was born Aug. 5, 1921, in Carthage, Mo., to Riley and Lola (Miller) Pryor.  The family moved to Ritchey, Mo. when Velda was 4 years old, and she attended school in Ritchey most of her life and graduated from Granby High School in 1941.

In 1941, she married Rex Judd, her high school sweetheart and they had three sons, Gary, Dan and Ted.

She helped her husband on the dairy farm for 20 years and after leaving the dairy farm, they moved to Diamond where she worked in the Diamond School for 12 years. She loved to quilt and supplied her many family members with quilts and loved being with her grandchildren and family. She volunteered at Carver Memorial for 10 years and belonged to the Church of Christ at West Union and the Diamond Improvement Group until moving to Rogers, Ark., where she was attended the Pea Ridge Church of Christ.

Velda is survived by her husband of 72 years, Rex, of the home; three sons, Gary Judd and wife, Carolyn, Florida, Danny Judd and wife, Jonita, Rogers, and Ted Judd and wife, Janet, Lowell, Ark.; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents and three brothers and two sisters.

Services will be Monday, Feb. 3, at 2 p.m. at the Clark Funeral Home Chapel in Granby, Larry Cargile will officiate. Interment will be in the Newtonia IOOF Cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday from 1 p.m. until service time at the funeral home.
