JOPLIN, Mo. —
Mitch Cobb Wade, age 53, passed away Saturday afternoon, Feb. 22, 2014, from injuries received from a farming accident at his home.
Mitch was born March 2, 1960, in Joplin, Mo. His parents are the late Jerry D Wade and Ginger G. (Geisler) Wade. He had lived in the Galena, Kan. and Joplin area most of his life.
He was a graduate of Galena High School, class of 1978 and a member of First Baptist Church, Galena. He was Vice-President of Sales at Oasis Car Wash Systems in Galena, and along with his brothers, he owned and operated several car washes in the area.
His true passion was calf roping and training calf roping horses. His favorite place to be was in his barn and practice pen. He also held numerous calf ropings through the Ultimate Calf Roping Association.
Mitch was married to Kristi Sue Hill on Nov. 30, 2002, in rural Joplin. She survives.
Additional survivors include his mother, Ginger Wade, Joplin; two sons, Dustin Wade and Derrick Wade, both of Tulsa, Okla.; one granddaughter, Laikyn Alexis Wade, Tulsa; and three brothers, Stephen Wade (wife, Michelle), Joplin, Curt Wade (wife, Kelli) Webb City, Mo., and Troy Wade (wife, Dianna), Galena.
The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 27, at First Baptist Church, Galena. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 27, at First Baptist Church. Pastor Jeff Swart will officiate. Burial will be on the family farm under the direction of Derfelt Funeral Home, Galena.
