AFTON, Okla. —
Charles Lloyd Miller, age 70, Afton, Okla., passed away on Sunday, April 8, 2012, at Mercy Hospital in Joplin.
Charles was born Nov. 4, 1941 in Amarillo, Texas, son of the late Joseph and Alice Wright Miller. He grew up in Bentonville, Ark., and served in the United States Navy for eight years as a machinist.
He moved to the State of Washington after his service, and worked as a councilor for the Job Corps, and also drove a school bus for the Curlew School District in Curlew, Wash.
In addition to his parents, Charles was preceded in death by a brother, Joseph Wright Miller.
Survivors include his sons, Nathan Miller, of Spokane, Wash., and Ben Miller of Joplin; brother, Spencer Miller and wife Mary Lee, of Vinita, Okla.; sisters, Diane Slaughter and husband, Steve, of Gonzales, Texas, and Zella Katherine Cook, of Kerrville, Texas.
Memorial services will be Saturday, April 14, at 2 p.m. in the College View Manor Community Room, 3828 College View Drive, Joplin, with family and friends officiating.
Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary.
