JOPLIN, Mo. —
Donald Wayne "Don" Kunce, age 69, Joplin, passed away at 8:54 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 19, 2013, at Freeman West Hospital after an illness.
Don was born Aug. 3, 1944 in Joplin, to the late Dale Kunce and Ruth Richey. He and his wife had lived in Kansas for over 20 years. He then moved to Sedalia.
He worked as a residential house painter and was employed by Ruestman Construction Company for 22 years. He was a member of Abundant Life Christian Center. He loved church and loved serving the Lord. He also served in the U.S. Navy for seven years.
On March 6, 1968, he married Sandra Louise Spoon. She will be remembered at his services.
Survivors include his son, Dareck Kunce, Hillsboro, Ohio; two daughters, Charyl Copher and Michelle Kunce, both of Webb City; four siblings; eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Services are planned for Tuesday at 10 a.m. at Parker Mortuary Chapel. Rev. Larry Bjorklund will officiate. Interment with Military Honors will follow in Ozark Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday from 7 to 8 p.m. at Parker Mortuary.
