OSWEGO, KS —

Clayton Dean James, age 2, son of George Jr. and Michelle James, of Oswego, passed from this life Saturday, May 5, 2012, after injuries sustained in an accident.

Clayton was born Aug. 10, 2009, in Parsons, Kan. Clayton was a young boy that brought a smile to your face when he was around.He loved spending time outside playing with his Tonka Trucks and his Hot Wheels. Like every young boy if there was a puddle of mud, you could bet that Clayton would be right in the middle of it. He enjoyed when his parents would take he and his sister, Danielle, to the Labette City Park to play for hours. Even though Clayton was with us for a short amount of time, those who knew him were impacted by him. He will be greatly missed by all.

Clayton is preceded in death by his grandfather, Robert Terry; and great-grandmother, Margaret Dean James.

He is survived by his parents, George Jr. and Michelle James, of Oswego; one sister, Danielle Alice James, of the home; grandparents, George Sr. and Rebecca James, of Oswego, and Cathy Terry, of Girard, Kan.; great-grandfather, Charles O. James, of Neodesha, Kan.; several aunts, uncles and cousins.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 12, at 2 p.m. at Derfelt Funeral Home, of Oswego. Burial will follow in the Labette City Cemetery. Pastor Steve Fellers will officiate. Family will receive friends Friday evening from 6 to 7 p.m. at Derfelt Funeral Home, of Oswego.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Labette City Park to help purchase new equipment in Clayton's memory. Donations may be mailed to Derfelt Funeral Home of Oswego 203 Illinois, Oswego, KS 67356.
