CARTHAGE, MO —

Jessie M. Owens, age 91, of Carthage, Mo., passed away on Tuesday, May 8, 2012, at her home, following an illness.

Jessie was born on Aug. 5, 1920, in Sarcoxie, Mo., to Woodward and Ethel (Jackson) Pauley.

She has been a lifetime Scottland resident. She worked for Oxford Healthcare and prior to that she worked for Industrial Linen. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church.

She married Burl C. Owens on Dec. 24, 1938, in Carthage. He preceded her in death on Oct. 12, 2007.

She was preceded in death by one brother and five sisters.

She is survived by one son, Randy E. Owens, Carthage; two grandchildren, Aaron and Lakon Owens; and three great-grandchildren, Bailey, Alissa and Rafe.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Mason-Woodard Mortuary. Rev. Robert Wilkie will officiate. Burial will be in Ozark Memorial Park Cemetery. The pallbearers will be Robert Herron, Danny Edwards, Tom Hackleman, Nelson Williams, Denny Lynch, and Jim Dennison. The family will receive friends at 1 p.m. Friday prior to the service at Mason-Woodard Mortuary.

Arrangements are under the direction of Mason-Woodard Mortuary & Crematory.
