CARL JUNCTION, Mo. — Guenter Hagen Renger, age 70, of Carl Junction, passed away on Friday, June 14, 2013, at Freeman West Hospital in Joplin.

Guenter was born April 12, 1943, in Frankfurt, Germany, and grew up and attended school in Germany.

He learned the trade of being a butcher in Germany, and worked at this profession for several years before moving to Canada in 1973 to be with the love of his life, Erna. They married June 15, 1974. While in Canada, he began a career with F.A.G.  He moved from Canada to Joplin in 1979 to work for F.A.G. before landing a job with Tamko. He worked with Tamko for over 22 years before retiring in 2005.  

Guenter loved to hunt and fish, and taught his sons the art of processing the game they harvested. He was a loving husband and father.

Guenter shared his kindness and loving nature with not only his family, but with anyone he came in contact.  

Survivors include his wife of 39 years, Erna; two sons, William Braun and wife, Melissa, of Joplin, and Robert Renger, D.D.S. and wife, Caroline, also of Joplin; grandchildren, Billy Braun, Kenny Braun, Joey Braun, Ethan Renger and Presley Renger; brother, Kurt Renger; sister, Helga Hitzel, both of Germany.

Private family only services for Guenter will be held at a later date. No public service or visitation is planned at this time.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary.
