PICHER, Okla. —
PICHER, Okla. - Alice June Turner, 66, of Picher, Okla., passed from this life on Friday, June 21, 2013, at Carthage Health and Rehab, with her family surrounding her.
Alice was born on May 30, 1947, in Picher, to the union of Floyd Harvey and Arbella Maxine (Douse) Dunning. She was a lifelong area resident working as a seamstress at Glenn Berry until their closing.
She was united in marriage in Miami, Okla., on June 28, 1968, to Robert Frederick Turner. He preceded her in death on June 3, 1995.
Alice enjoyed crocheting, sewing and taking camping trips where they were able to fish. She especially enjoyed the time spent with her family and all the grandchildren.
Alice is preceded in death by her parents; husband; one brother, Floyd Harvey Buddy Dunning Jr.; one sister, Martha Jane Turner; and three grandchildren. She is survived by two sons, Robert Frederick Turner II and wife, Carolyn, of Commerce, Okla. and Russell Alan Turner and wife, Brandi, of Fairland, Okla.; three daughters, Rebecca Turner-Jimerson, of Fairland, Rhonda Joyce Snow and husband, Richard E. Sr., of Fairland and Robin Maxine Turner-Walker, of Fairland; one sister, Beverly Lemon, of Tacoma, Wash., along with several other ½ brothers and sisters; 16 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephew.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, June 26, at Derfelts Baxter Chapel. Burial will follow in the GAR Cemetery, Miami, Okla. Family will receive friends on Tuesday, June 25, at Derfelts Baxter Chapel from 6 to 7 p.m.
