WEBB CITY, Mo. —
Wanita Lorene (Palm) Doubledee, 92, most recently a resident of Webb City Health and Rehab passed from this earth to her spiritual life on April 18, 2013, after many months of ill health.
Mrs. Doubledee was born on Sept. 21, 1920, to Anna and P.W. Palm in Adair, Okla. She was a long time resident of Jasper County, Mo.
Mrs. Doubledee was an active member of New Providence Baptist Church. She was employed at Barton County Electric Cooperative in Lamar, Mo., at various times during the 1960s and early 1970s. She had also been active as a member of the Sunshine Ladies Club of the Jasper County Extension Club and had participated on many voting boards over the years. Wanita had been a previous member of the Carl Junction Athletic Booster Club and was often seen at Carl Junction School and youth athletic functions. Additionally, she actively participated in farming with her husband and son, until her health no longer allowed.
Mrs. Doubledee was married to James E. Doubledee, who preceded her in death on Dec. 1, 1977.
She was also preceded in death by her son, Craig, on Sept. 5, 2012, as well as her parents, a brother and two sisters.
Surviving are her daughter-in-law, Hermina and two grandsons, Nathan and his wife, Samantha and James and his friend, Sagan Vreeland. Additionally, she is survived by many nieces, nephews, close neighbors and friends as well as her extended family at Foxberry Terrace. She will be dearly missed.
Services will be held at New Providence Baptist Church, Oronogo. on April 20, at 2 p.m., with a visitation from 1 p.m. until service time. The Rev. Larry Shumaker will officiate. Burial will be in Nashville Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to New Providence Baptist Church or Mercy Hospice.
