LAMAR, Mo. —
Margaret Walker, 85, passed away Aug. 1, 2013, at Truman Heatlhcare, surrounded by her family.
She was born Oct. 6, 1927, in Melstone, Mt., to Adolph and Rosa (Fiene) Bohlman. She was the fourth of six children and was raised on ranches in Montana. Margaret graduated from Melstone High School.
She married Hollis "Corky" Walker on Dec. 29, 1945, in Billings, Mt. Shortly after their marriage, Corky joined the U.S. Army. They made their home in Wyoming and Montana before returning to Corky's home town of Liberal, Mo., in 1951. Margaret was a homemaker for their family of five children, all of whom attended Liberal School District, and reside within a 50 mile radius of Lamar.
Margaret was preceded in death by her parents; granddaughter, Schelli Abts; brother, Ted Bohlman; sister, Florence Roberts.
She is survived by her husband, Hollis; four daughters, Dorothy Rose Walker, Liberal, Shirley Kay (Tom) Webb, Carthage, Mo., Corkie Lee (Allen) Abts, Liberal, Janet N. (Rick) Yount, Liberal; a son, H. Duane Walker, Neosho, Mo.; 10 grandchildren, Joel Miller, Shawn Abts, Eric Yount, Genevieve Welch, Shannon Abts, Nico Linsteadt, Emily Allyn, Jared Walker, Levi Walker, Cody Walker; 20 great- grandchildren; brother, Edwin Bohlman; sisters, Doris Adolph and Shirley Farnum; and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held 7 to 9 p.m. Monday, Aug. 5, at Konantz Warden Chapel, Lamar. Graveside service will be held 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 6 at Barton City Cemetery, Liberal.
