ORONOGO, MO —

Billie E. Tandy Wilkins, age 77, of Oronogo, Mo., passed away at 7:46 a.m. on Thursday, Oct. 4, 2012, at Freeman West Hospital.

Born Sept. 15, 1935, in Pittsburg, Kan., she was the daughter of the late Charles H. Tandy and Jessie Marie Paine Tandy and lived in the area her lifetime. Billie was a 1953 graduate of Carterville High School. Billie was a faithful servant of the Lord. She devoted her entire life to her family and unselfishly supported her husband in his ministry. She was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church.

On Nov. 8, 1953, she married Rev. John F. Wilkins Sr. at Bethel Church in Seneca, Mo. He survives.

Additional survivors include a daughter, Sherrie L. Moore and husband, Edward, of Carl Junction, Mo.; sons, John F. Wilkins Jr. and wife, Robin, Charles R. Wilkins and wife, Teresa, all of Oronogo; daughter, Christi K. Hare and husband, Bill, of Oronogo; 11 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at Oak Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Mike Snider and Rev. Glenn Stark officiating. Interment will follow in Burkhart Cemetery in Racine, with family serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends from 2 to 3 p.m. Sunday at Parker Mortuary.

Memorial contributions may be made to Missouri Baptist Children's Home.
