JOPLIN, MO —

Ira Kenneth White, 71, passed on Oct. 5, 2012, at Freeman West ICU in Joplin, Mo., following a short illness.

He was born on April 16, 1941, in Joplin, to Ira Kennard and Edith (Dixon) White.

Being a lifelong resident, Mr. White was a self-employed general contractor and an avid fisherman.

Ira married Catherine Sarah Baker on April 10, 1991. She preceded him in death on Dec. 25, 2002.

He is also preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by four children, Audra and husband, Donnie Lowery, of Joplin, Marvin and wife, Michelle White, of Neosho, Mo., Dorothy and husband, Randy Shoemaker, of Webb City, Mo., and Ira and wife, Vicki White, of Carl Junction, Mo.; a brother, Jim and wife, Lila White, of the state of Florida; two sisters, Evelyn and husband, Clyde Ward, of Webb City, and Pauline Fawver, of Springfield, Mo.; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Osborne Cemetery, Joplin. Friends may call Monday from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. with family receiving friends from 6 to 7 p.m. at Clark Funeral Home Neosho.

Arrangements are under the direction of Clark Funeral Home, Neosho.
