JOPLIN, Mo. —
Samantha Sabrina Spencer Simon, 19, passed away Thursday, Oct. 4, 2012, at her home South of Joplin.
Samantha was born July 14, 1993, in Joplin. She graduated in 2011 from the Mt. Tabor High School in Winston-Salem, N.C. She movedto Joplin in Oct. 2011 to be closer to her dad and his family. She ws employed by Subway in Joplin. She attended the Methodist Church in N.C.
Survivors include her daughter, Sarah Simon; Her father, Orvil Christopher "Chris" Spencer, Joplin; Her mother, Chenise Simon, Winston-Salem; three sisters, Sadie Spencer Simon, Winston-Salem, Shelby, Fort Wayne, Ind and Breanna Spencer, Joplin; three brothers, Jonathan Spencer, Dezamin Cunningham and Seth Spencer, all of Joplin; paternal grandparents, Polly and Kenny Melton, Joplin; maternal grandparents, James Simon, Eudora, Kan and Victoria Scott, Winston-Salem; two maternal great-grandmothers, Helen Simon and Jacqualine "Jackie" Nash, Kansas; three uncles, Scott Spencer, Kelly Spencer and wife, Becky and Tim Simon and wife, all of Joplin; one aunt, Cammy Simpson, Galena, Kan.; numerous cousins and other relatives and friends.
Services are tentatively scheduled for 2 p.m. Monday at the Independent Baptist Church, Altamont, Kan. Vititation is to be held Sunday afternoon. Memorials will be held in Joplin and in Winston-Salem at a later date. For mor information call 417-622-3617. She was very much loved and will be missed. Arrangements are under the direction of Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home, Parsons, Kan.
