CARTHAGE, MO —
Georgia E. Johnson, 91, passed away Dec. 2, 2012.
Georgia was born March 4, 1921, in Cassville, Mo., to Polly J. (Turner) Patton and Bert C. Patton. Georgia graduated from Cassville High School class of 1939.
Georgia married Buel Johnson, of Lamar, Colo., on May 14, 1939. They spent the first 10 years of married life in the Arkansas River Valley in Colorado. Georgia and her family moved to Carthage in 1949. Georgia, Buel and their son owned and operated Johnson Body Shop for 25 years.
Georgia greatly enjoyed golf, bridge, shopping and traveling. She was a longtime member of the Church of Christ, The Carthage Women's Golf Association and the M&M Bridge Club. Her greatest joy however came from the time she spent with family and friends.
Georgia was preceded in death by her husband, Buel Johnson in April 1983. She was preceded by her parents and her brother, Jack J. Patton.
She is survived by one son, Michael B. Johnson, of Carthage; two daughters, Janie Hutchison and husband, Larry, of Noblesville, Ind., and Judy Webb and husband, Walter, of Carthage; four grandchildren, Kim Lobert, of Mandeville, La., Kevin Klingensmith and wife, Monica, of Joplin, Mo., Lori Johns and husband, Wade, of Hernando, Miss., and Shane Hatton, of Houston, Texas; nine great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 5, at Park Cemetery, Carthage.
