JOPLIN, MO —

Diane M. Long, of Joplin, Mo., passed away on Monday, Dec. 10, 2012, of natural causes, at age 71.

Diane was born Nov. 21, 1941, to Beryl and Edward Eagleson in East Orange, N.J. Diane worked as an accountant and full charge bookkeeper. She was also involved with animal rights and welfare and wildlife preservation organizations. Diane was active with her church and had a love of astrology and all things mythical.

Diane is survived by a sister, Denise Greenburg, of Yellow Springs, Ohio; a brother, Leland Eagleson, of Aurora, Colo.; a daughter, Ruth Freyta, of Golden, Colo.; a son, Jack Hudson, of Bennett, Colo.; a granddaughter, Camille Hudson, of Bozeman, Mont.; and a great-grandson, James Deitchler, of Bozeman, Mont.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 15, at Unity Church of Joplin, 204 North Jackson Street, Joplin, MO 64801 at the corner of "A" Street and Jackson, the former Women's Club building. Diane's life will be brought full circle when her remains reach their final resting place at Loughborough Lake in Kingston, Ontario, Canada, and the home of her beloved Loons.
