Yvetta "Naydean" Eubanks

JOPLIN, Mo. —

Yvetta Naydean Eubanks, age 90, of Joplin, Mo., passed away on Saturday May 26, 2012, at Mercy Hospital, following an illness.

Naydean was born on Oct. 7, 1921, in Diamond, Mo., the daughter of the late Oscar and Effie (Vaughn) Lewis. She has been a lifetime area resident.

She married James Kenneth Eubanks in March of 1939. Together they raised eight children. She enjoyed playing Bingo at the VFW.

She is survived by three sons, Darrell Eubanks and wife Audrey, Kenny Eubanks, and Doug Eubanks, all of Joplin; four daughters, Linda Glover, Jama Lopez, both of Joplin and Carolyn Cupp and husband Roy, of St. Helen, Ore.  and Janice Lawson, Siloam Springs, Ark.; 27 grandchildren, 44 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James Kenneth Eubanks in 1989; one daughter, Alice Clark in 1992; One grandson Buck, one brother, Clyde Lewis; and three sisters, Opal McClendon, Pearl Hight, and Ruby Coombs.

Funeral service will be 2  p.m. Wednesday at Mason-Woodard Chapel. Dr. Phillip McClendon will officiate. Burial will be in Diamond Cemetery in Diamond, Mo. The pallbearers will be her grandsons.

Arrangements are under the direction of Mason-Woodard Mortuary & Crematory.
