Rose M. Holland

JOPLIN, Mo. — Rose Margaret (Bischoff) Holland, age 82, of Joplin, passed away on Friday, March 14, 2014, at her home, following an illness.

Rose was born on July 6, 1931, in Wentworth, Mo., the daughter of the late Ben and Clara (Sierawski) Bischoff.  She graduated from Pierce City High School in 1948 and taught at the Pleasant Hill Grade School.

She married Paul Eugene Holland at St. Peters Catholic Church of Joplin on June 9, 1956. Before she was married she worked at Proctor and Gamble in Kansas City, Mo. and Arma Elevator. After raising her sons she worked at Lewis Motor Supply Company, Hagmans, and Bagcraft Corporation of America as an office and personnel manager for 23 years. They owned and operated a concession trailer for 10 years and for several years she worked at Byers Ave. Methodist Church cooking their Wednesday night dinners. She was a longtime member of St. Peters Catholic Church. She was a loving grandmother and loved spending time with her "Kids".

Rose is survived by two sons, Paul Holland and wife, Peggy, Joplin and Tom Holland and wife, Colleen, Diamond, Mo.; one sister, Betty Filarski, Joplin ; seven grandchildren, Alisha Krusich and husband, Devon, Pittsburg, Kan., TJ Holland and wife, Meghan, West Des Moines, Iowa, Jenna Wyatt and husband, Andrew, Joplin, Casey Holland, Ballwin, Mo., Paul "LP" Holland, III, Joplin, April Holland and Raven Holland, both of Joplin; and two great-grandchildren, Jack and AJ Krusich. She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul E. Holland on June 1, 2006; a son, Robert "Bob" Holland, on Sept. 7, 2012; a brother, Raymond "Bud" Bischoff; and a sister, Harriett "Tinker" Pearson.

A Rosary will be held at 6 p.m. Monday evening at Mason-Woodard Chapel. With the visitation beginning at 6:30 p.m. A private family graveside service will be held on Tuesday. Randy Wilson, Minister will officiate. Roses sons and grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
