JOPLIN, Mo. —
Joplin, Mo. - Charlene "Sis" Butts, age 72, of Joplin, Mo., passed away at 11:50 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 14, 2013, following an eight month illness.
Sis was born Sept. 7, 1940, in Duenweg, Mo., the daughter of Raymond and Evelene Cruse. She was employed as a waitress, working at Red Lobster, Mickey Mantle's, Holiday Inn and The Townsman Restaurant in Miami, Okla.
Survivors include a son, Tony Butts, Joplin; a daughter, Tanya Jackson and husband, Doug, Fairland, Okla.; her significant other, Gary Keplar, Joplin; and two grandchildren, K.C. Jones, and Luke Jones.
Sis's wishes were to have her body donated to medical research. Memorial services will be at 3 p.m. Monday at the Mason-Woodard Chapel with Rev. Troy Selsor officiating. Visitation will follow the service.
Memorial contributions are requested to the American Cancer Society.
