PINE BLUFF, Ark. —
Rev. Frank Farris Martin, age 70, of Pine Bluff, Ark., died Sunday, Aug. 4, 2013, at his home.
Rev. Martin was born May 14, 1943, in Galena, Kan., a son of the late Dan Henry and Mildred Irene Russell Martin.
Rev. Martin was reared and educated in Galena, where he graduated from Galena High School. He had been a resident of Pine Bluff since 2010. He was ordained as a Baptist minister on Sept. 11, 1971, in Galena, at the First Baptist Church. Prior to coming to Pine Bluff, he had lived in Ottawa, Kan., where he pastored a church for 20 years. He has pastored churches in Kansas, Arkansas and Missouri, and had served as a missionary in the Baptist Missionary Association of America. He was currently a member of Calvary Baptist Church in White Hall, Ark. He was very dedicated to his Lord.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Donnie Martin; and two sisters, Doris Martin and Lois Wells.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Anita Billington Martin, who he married July 3, 1970, in Violet Hill, Ark.; a daughter, Jennifer Poteet (Scott), of Rison, Ark.; son, Phillip Martin (Kathy), of Ottawa; three brothers, Jerry Martin (Linda) and Larry Martin (Letha), both of Galena, and Jeff Martin (Joyce), of Oronogo, Mo.; two sisters, Grace Ann Martin, of Joplin, Mo., and Sheila Crowder (Lonnie), of Carl Junction, Mo.; two grandchildren, Amber Williams (Kevin), of Conway, Ark., and Devin Martin, of Pine Bluff; one great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 17, at the First Baptist Church in Galena, with pastor Jeff D. Martin officiating. A private interment was held in Memorial Park Cemetery in Pine Bluff.
