JOPLIN, Mo. —
Grace Catherine Webb Mitchell, age 94, of Joplin, went to be with the Lord on March 17, 2013, in Joplin.
She was born June 10, 1918, in Enid, Okla., A loving mother and homemaker, she also worked as a nurse's aid at Oak Hill Hospital for many years. She was an outstanding volunteer as an Ombudsman at National Healthcare Center and was an active member at Lone Elm Pentecostal Church. An avid bowler, she served on the Missouri State Bowling Board.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 69 years, Woodrow G. Mitchell; her son, Arthur C. (Sam) Mitchell; two grandsons and one great-grandson.
Survivors include two daughters, Rebecca A. (Becky) Douffet of Galena, Kan., and Wanda L. Soares and husband, Mark, of Mililani, Hawaii; a son, Phillip L. Mitchell and wife, Kay, of Brookline Station, Mo.; 11 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be Wednesday, March 20, at 2 p.m. at Hornet Cemetery with Rev. J.C. Walker officiating.
Arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary.
