JOPLIN, Mo. —
Clyde Basil Judy Sr., age 82, Joplin, Mo., passed away Monday, March 18, 2013, following a short illness.
He was born Nov. 28, 1930, in Dewey, Okla., to Clyde and Burnetta Gilmer Judy.
Basil owned and operated Judy's Garage and then was an independent operator truck driver. He was a member of the Arkansas Fiddlers Association and the Oak Grove Baptist Church.
He married Creola Graves in 1951, in Hindsville, Ark. She preceded him in death in 2009.
Basil is survived by two sons, Clyde B. "Sonny" Judy Jr. and his wife, Melody, of Joplin, and Randy Judy and his wife, Debbie; one daughter, Nadene Commet and her husband, Mike, of Hindsville, Ark.; two brothers, Jerry Judy and Ron Judy, of Columbus, Kan.; one sister, Bruna Adamson, of Columbus; six grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Bill Judy.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Oak Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Johnny Wilkins officiating. Burial will follow in the Ozark Memorial Park Cemetery. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 5 to 6 p.m. at the mortuary.
