Connie Suzanne (Catron) Mieir, of Oak Grove, Mo. passed away Wednesday March 20, 2013, after challenging ALS with faith, courage, and grace.

Connie was born Aug. 17, 1952, in Carthage, Mo., to Wayne and Helen Catron.

Connie graduated from Missouri Southern State University with her bachelors in education, master's from Central Missouri State, and Library Media Specialist from Central Missouri State.

Connie worked for the Oak Grove R-VI schools as a classroom teacher for 20 years and ten years as the media center specialist. Being a librarian was her dream with her avid love of reading. She was instrumental in helping establish the Exchange City program, 5th grade Christmas musicals, and proud of the library collection she shared with students. Each child was more than just a student as she cared for each one individually.

Connie was a member of New Hope Christian Church in Belton and served faithfully there in the music ministry and with a strong prayer life. Her love for Christ and the need for His Kingdom to grow was very important. Prior to serving at New Hope, she sang in choirs, lead worship, was a music minister, worked at CYOKAMO Christian Camp, taught Bible school and classes for adults. Her work in bus ministry included a record Sunday with 100 passengers.

Connie was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Mike; and niece Carrie.

Survivors include her husband, Bill Mieir; siblings brother, Larry (Karen) Catron, sister-in-law, Diana Catron, sister Peggy (Jay) Lucas; four children, DeGee (Mark) Brown, Billy Mieir, Mark (Staci) Mieir and Alex Mieir; Connie had 11 grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, other family members and many friends all of whom she loved dearly.

In lieu of flowers please make contributions to further her loves and interests to New Hope Christian Church, Belton Mo.

Services will be held at First Baptist Church, Oak Grove, Mo., Monday, March 25. Visitation at 3 p.m. followed by celebration service at 4 p.m. A second service will be held at First Christian Church, Carthage Mo., Tuesday, March 26. Visitation at 1 p.m. followed by celebration service at 2 p.m. Arrangements are under the direction of Knell Mortuary, Carthage, Mo.
