WEBB CITY, Mo. —
Nolan E. Head, age 67, of Webb City, Mo., passed away at 6:22 p.m. Wednesday, April 24, 2013, at Freeman Hospital West in Joplin, following a sudden illness.
Nolan was born Dec. 20, 1945, in McAlester, Okla., and had lived in Webb City the last 11 years, moving here from Dodge City, Kan.
Nolan was a Coordinator for the Economic Security Corporation's Head Start Program in Joplin. He was a graduate of Lincoln Christian University in Lincoln, Ill., and was involved in Christian Ministry for over 20 years, including youth work in Australia, and pastoring churches in Illinios, Florida, Oklahoma and Kansas. He was a member of Christ's Church of Oronogo. Nolan recently authored a book entitled The Chronicles of Young George Washington.
Nolan married Jill Garren Aug. 18, 1973, in Centralia, Ill. She survives.
Additional survivors include two sons, Nathan Head and wife, Stefany and their children, Jordan and Lincoln Head, Nicholasville, Ky., and Tim Head and wife, Nikki, Webb City.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Christ's Church of Oronogo, with Chuck Richardson and Ken Idleman, Ministers, officiating. Burial will follow in the Weaver Cemetery with Military Honors provided. Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday at Christ's Church of Oronogo.
Memorial contributions are requested to Christian's Haven or Peterson Outdoor Ministry in care of the funeral home.
