NEOSHO, Mo. —

Mr. Ricky Wayne Sprenger, 57, of Neosho, Mo., departed this life on Monday, April 22, 2013, at the Freeman West Hospital in Joplin, Mo., following a sudden illness.
Ricky entered this life on March 6, 1956, in Webb City, Mo., to the late Jess and Peggy (Jackson) Sprenger.
He married the love of his life, Julijana Krajovan, on Aug. 25, 1978.
He lived most of his life in Neosho. He proudly served our country in the United States Army for 21 years. He received several medals and ribbons to include, Meritorious Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal, Army Achievement Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Joint Meritorious Unit Award, Professional Development Ribbon, Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon, Southwest Asia Service Medal, Expert Marksmanship Badge and Kuwait Liberation Medal. Following his retirement from the Army in 1993, he worked with his Dad at Sprenger Plumbing for six years. He was very proud of his children and grandchildren and was always bragging about their accomplishments. Ricky loved his grandchildren very much and tried his best to spend as much time with them as possible. He was always taking them fishing, rides on the four wheeler, tractor rides, taking them to the playground to play and getting ice cream. Ricky enjoyed hunting, fishing, yard sales, auctions, collecting junk, NASCAR races, movies, music, spending time on the computer and tinkering with electronics. He always got a kick out of naming the animals on the farm. He enjoyed listening to his scanner/weather radio and was a Hamm operator. Ricky considered himself to be a meteorologist and had attended several storm spotter classes. He was a real joker and loved to make everyone laugh. Ricky will be extremely missed by all who knew him.
Ricky is survived by his wife of 34 years, Julijana Sprenger; two sons, Dusty Alan Sprenger and wife, Nena, of Fort Leonard Wood, Mo., and Nikki Sprenger and wife, Jessica, of Joplin; seven grandchildren, Caleb Sprenger, Tyler Sprenger, Connor Sprenger, Alex Sprenger, Ljiljana Sprenger, Gabriella Sprenger and Addyson Sprenger; a sister, Tammy Brown and fiancé, Craig Anderson, of Galena, Mo.; brother-in-law, Carl Brown, of Crane, Mo.; a nephew, Justin Brown and a niece, Lindsey Brown; along with a host of other family friends who will dearly miss Ricky.
Funeral services for Ricky Sprenger will be held at 3 p.m. on Wednesday, May 1, at the Anderson Chapel of the Ozark Funeral Homes. Family will receive friends on Wednesday from 2 p.m. until service time.
