TULSA, Okla. —
Christy Lynn (Huckins) Whittington, age 52, of Tulsa, Okla., passed away on Saturday, May 18, 2013, at her home, following a sudden illness.
Christy was born on May 16, 1961, in Joplin, the daughter of the late Cecil and Sandra (Hunt) Huckins. She attended Central Christian Academy and was a member of Central Christian Center. She moved to Tulsa 17 years ago. She worked as the deli manager for Akins Health Food Store. She loved her job and thought of her co-workers as family. She enjoyed spending time at The Market Place Pub with her friends, many of whom called her "Momma Christy".
Christy is survived by one daughter, Amanda Ramsey, Webb City, Mo.; three sisters, Lisa Wilkerson and husband, Gregg, Joplin, Kim Lester and husband, Bruce, Joplin, and Shelley Harper and husband, Doug, Beckley, W.Va.; two grandchildren, Jalynn Hood and Perry Ramsey; her best friend and love of her life, Gary Parham, Tulsa; and several nieces and nephews, that she loved dearly.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Mason-Woodard Chapel. Dr. Hank Deslatte and Pastor Doug Wilkerson will officiate. The honorary pallbearers will be Perry Ramsey, Jalynn Hood, Philip Wilkerson and Todd Wilkerson. Following services Christy will be cremated. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Mason-Woodard.
Memorial contributions may be given to the American Heart Association in care of the mortuary.
