JOPLIN, Mo. —
James Vincent “Jim” Lane, age 69, Joplin, passed away on Friday, Feb. 3, 2012, at a hospital in Springfield, Mo.
Jim was born April 26, 1942, in Neosho, son of the late Floyd C. and Katherine Lane.
He graduated from Neosho High School, and retired from Rocketdyne in Neosho. Jim and Loretta owned and operated S.W. Sod and Landscaping until 1992. He was formerly involved with the trucking industry, and owned a truck stop in the area.
He was a member of College View Baptist Church.
In addition to his parents, Jim was preceded in death by a stepson, Mark Reynolds.
Survivors include his wife, Loretta Lane whom he married March 3, 1973. in Joplin; son, Kevin Lane of Joplin; step-son, David C. Reynolds of Joplin; daughters, Karen Lane of Joplin, and Kim Lane of Oronogo, Mo.; sister, Trudy Shafner of Springfield, Mo.; niece, Penny Lane; grandchildren, Phillip Stewart, Kasey Stewart, Stephanie Lopes, Heather Reynolds, James Robert Reynolds, David Reynolds II, Preston Reynolds and Tyler Reynolds; great-grandchildren, Lilian, Ashton, Anthony, Bailey, Gwendolyn, Jazilyn, Paxton, Alexander, Jaiden and Joleesa; host of family and friends.
Memorial visitation will be held on Wednesday, Feb. 8, 2012, at Parker Mortuary from 6 to 7 p.m. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary.
The family requests that memorial contributions be made to the family to help with expenses.
