WEBB CITY, Mo. —

Verna Walker Mason, age 76, of Webb City, Mo., passed away March 12, 2013, at Joplin Mercy Hospital in Joplin, Mo. She is now in Heaven with her Lord and Savior.

Verna was born on Feb. 12, 1937. She lived her whole life in Webb City. She worked at McCune-Brooks Hospital in Carthage, Mo., for 27 years.

She is survived by her husband, Danny E. Mason, who she married on Jan. 12, 1957; daughters, Becky Davenport and Terri Howard and her husband, Brad, all of Webb City, and Lisa Box and her husband, Mark, of Jasper, Mo.; brothers, Leon and Lou Walker, both of Jasper; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Verna was preceded in death by one great-grandson, Zachary Davenport.

Verna has been taken for cremation. The family will be conducting a memorial service at 1:30 p.m. on Friday March 15, at the Christ Church of Oronogo. The family will receive friends at the church for a time of visitation prior to the service beginning at 1 p.m. on Friday.

In lieu of flowers, the family request contributions to be made to Verna's Family, in memory of Verna to help with final expenses.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Mason-Woodard Mortuary & Crematory.
