ORONOGO, Mo. —
Lucille Minnix, age 83, of Oronogo, Mo., passed away at 1:55 p.m. Wednesday, April 3, 2013, at Mercy Hospital in Joplin, following a sudden illness.
Lucille was born July 5, 1929, in Scott City, Kan., the daughter of Oliver and Ethel Thatcher. She moved to Oronogo in 1997, from Scott City. Lucille was a homemaker. She was a member of the Purcell Baptist Church and a former member of the Immanuel Baptist Church, of Scott City, where she taught children's Sunday School for 14 years.
Lucille married Wayne Minnix Sept. 6, 1950, in Raton, N.M. He preceded her in death in January 1987.
She was also preceded in death by three brothers and one sister.
Survivors include a daughter, Linda Stevens and husband, Bob, rural Jasper, Mo.; two grandsons, Robert Stevens and wife, Tammy and Brian Stevens and wife, Becky; and five great-grandchildren, Amber, Logan, Zach, Byron and Brooke.
Services will be at 4 p.m. Saturday at the Hedge-Lewis Chapel in Webb City, with Rev. Kevin Melton officiating. Following cremation her ashes will be taken to Scott City, for burial.
Memorial contributions are requested to the Purcell Baptist Church.
