JOPLIN, Mo. —
Darrell Ray Sentlinger, age 59, of Joplin, passed away on Friday, April 5, 2013, at his residence.
He was born on July 6, 1953, in Webb City, Mo., to Bill Sentlinger and Opal Bettes Fielder. Darrell was a painter, loved to hunt and fish and spend time with his family. He graduated from Webb City High School in the class of 1971.
Darrell is survived by his mother, Opal Fielder and husband, Rex, of West Memphis, Ark.; daughters, Susan Fodor and husband, Stephen, of Carterville, Shelly Kyte, of Webb City; brother, Rod Sentlinger, of Jasper, Mo.; sister, Jan Clark, of Joplin; grandchildren, Kelli Kyte, Mason Smith, Shelby Smith and Elijah Morgan; and a close friend, Darren Simpson, of Joplin; nephews, Jake Sentlinger and family and Justin Sentlinger and family.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, April 9, at 10 a.m. in the chapel of Simpson Funeral Home in Webb City, with Rev. Frank Chew officiating. A visitation will be held on Monday from 6 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggest memorial donations to be made to the Joplin Humane Society or the Children's Haven in his memory.
