PRAIRIE VILLAGE, Kan — Bob Hunter Faulkner of Prairie Village Kan. passed away on Saturday, Dec. 22.

He was born in Joplin Mo., on Jan. 25, 1929, to Margaret and Ross Faulkner. Bob was a veteran of the Korean War and a graduate of Pittsburg State University. For almost 35 years, he was employed by the Bryant Electric Company (a division of Westinghouse) where he was twice honored as National Salesman of the Year. He was one of the fortunate ones to have ridden the crest of United States prosperity through the last half of the 20th century.

Following retirement, he and his wife traveled throughout the U.S. and the world visiting distant locales such as Egypt, China and Peru. His name became a familiar one in Letters to the Editor in both the Kansas City Star and USA Today where more than 55 of his often humorous opinions were published.

In addition to Joanne, his wife, of 56 years, he leaves three beloved children, Bob Jr. (Julie), Cary N.C., Owen (Laura), Bucyrus Kan., and Alexis (Matt) Ceule, of Overland Park; His life revolved around his four adored grandchildren, Jackson and Paige Ceule and Gus and Jesse Faulkner.

Visitation will take place in Joplin on Friday, Dec. 28, at 11 a.m. at Parker Mortuary. A private burial will follow.
