JOPLIN, Mo. — Peggy Lewis Ellis, age 57, Joplin, passed away at 9:41 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 5, 2013, at her residence.

Peggy was born June 30, 1955, in San Diego, Calif. to Peggy Judd Lewis and the late Roland E. Lewis. She was raised in San Diego, Calif. and had lived in Fresno, Calif. for 20 years. Peggy was a homemaker and a faithful member of Southside Baptist Church.

She married Stephen Ellis on Oct. 27, 1978, in San Diego. He survives at the home.

Additional survivors include her children, Kay Ellis, Emily Ellis, John Ellis and Joy Ellis, all of Joplin; her mother, Peggy Judd, Joplin; two brothers, Charles Stanley Lewis, San Diego, Calif., Roland E. Lewis V, Fresno, Calif.; and a sister, Anne Metzgar, Portland, Ore.

Memorial services are planned for Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Parker Mortuary Chapel. Rev. Phil Owens will officiate. The family will receive friends following the services in the chapel.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Southside Baptist Church, in care of Parker Mortuary.
