JOPLIN, MO —
Lisa Michele Stockam, age 40, of Joplin, won her battle at 3:20 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 6, 2013, and fell into the arms of her Heavenly Father.
Lisa was born Sept. 2, 1972, in Joplin, and had lived in Joplin most of her life with a few years living in Springfield, Mo. Her working career involved retail sales and investment banking. Lisa was a 1990 graduate of Joplin High School and was active in cheerleading both at Joplin High and Missouri Southern State University. Lisa was a member of Dove Point Fellowship and formerly attended Central Christian Center. She volunteered with the American Cancer Society and was involved in speaking on cancer awareness.
Lisa married the love of her life, Steve Land on June 4, 2012, in Cozumel, Mexico. He survives.
Additional survivors include her two daughters, Dominique Ellen and Emmalee Joy, of the home; her parents, David and Billie Stockam, rural Seneca, Mo.; one sister, Inger Brane and husband, Matt, Lee's Summit, Mo.; one brother, Travis Stockam and wife, Angie, Wichita, Kan.; four nieces, Lakan, Kaymyn, Mattie and Sophie; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
Services for the celebration of Lisa's life are scheduled for 10 a.m. Friday at Central Christian Center in Joplin, with Hank Deslatte, Steve Lenger and J.R. Driskill officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are requested to a fund established for her children in care of the mortuary.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Mason-Woodard Mortuary, of Joplin.
