JOPLIN, MO —
Richard Lee "Dick" DuRall, age 78, Joplin, passed away at 7:05 p.m. Monday, Jan. 21, 2013, at his residence after a long illness.
Dick was born July 21, 1934, in Joplin, to the late Claude Elvin DuRall and Leatha C. lamb DuRall and had lived in Joplin all of his life.
Dick attended Joplin schools and graduated from Joplin High School. He had worked for various tree service companies in the area before he started his career with Crowder Tree Surgery in 1958. He helped to expand the services of the company and took over ownership in the early 1980s. He retired in 1994. Since he loved the outdoors, in his spare time you would find him on the lake fishing with friends and his grandchildren.
He married Betty Eileen Ebbs on April 18, 1954, in Joplin. She survives at the home.
Additional survivors include a son, Elvin Lee DuRall, Joplin; two grandchildren, Christopher Lee DuRall, Baxter Springs, Kan., and Heather Drury, Joplin; and nine great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Richard Leon DuRall.
Graveside services will be Friday at 1 p.m. at Ozark Memorial Park Cemetery. Orville Garrison will officiate. Pallbearers will be Robert Drury Jr., Chris DuRall, David DuRall Jr., Jason Harper, Sonny Harper and Kenny Hayden.
Arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary.
