CARTHAGE, MO —
Helen Lucinda Holliday, 91, Carthage, Mo., passed away Tuesday, Jan. 22, 2013, at her home with her family at her bedside.
Helen Lucinda Kelly was born Sept. 25, 1921, in Fairview, Mo., the daughter of Vernon Morris Kelly and Pearl (Duncan) Kelly. She attended public school in Fairview and was a graduate of Fairview High School.
She married James W. Holliday on Sept. 10, 1949, in Miami, Okla. He preceded her in death on March 7, 2008.
Helen worked as a secretary for Lewis Implement, John Deere Dealership, Carthage, for several years. She was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church, Carthage.
Survivors include a daughter, Brenda (Leonard) Wagoner, Carthage; four grandchildren, Dr. Chad (Jennifer) Wagoner, Jason (Melanie) Holliday, Kara Wagoner and Andrew (Cheryl) Holliday; nine great-grandchildren, Steven Colvin, Jacob Holliday, Eryn Wagoner, Macy Holliday, Taylor Holliday, Connor Wagoner, Brock Richardson, Wyatt Holliday and Baylee Holliday; two sisters-in-law, Ann Kelly, Duenweg, Mo., and Jean Kelly, Monett, Mo.; caregivers/dear friends, Norma Cartright and Linda Barcus. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, James W. Holliday; her son, John Holliday; four brothers, Morris, Kervin, Wilford and Bill Kelly; and two sisters-in-law, Dorthy Kelly and Caroline Kelly.
Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 26, in the Veteran's Section of Park Cemetery, Carthage. Rev. Ronnie Miller will officiate.
Memorial gifts are suggested to the Hospice Compassus, Lamar, Mo.
