BAXTER SPRINGS, Kan. —
Helen G. Price, age 87, passed away on Monday, Feb. 18, 2013, at Joplin Health and Rehabilitation Center.
Helen was born on March 16, 1925, in Peoria, Okla. Her parents were Orville and Mae Fanning. She lived in Baxter Springs for most of her life.
Helen married Raymond Price on June 10, 1946. He preceded her in death after 49 years of marriage in 1995. Their daughter, Kathy, died in 1958.
Helen was also preceded in death by her siblings, Mildred Madison, Rose Gale Hughes, Harold Fanning, Don Fanning, Colleen Martin and Carl Fanning.
Surviving children are Connie Smith and husband, Jeff, Baxter Springs, and Debra Jones and husband, Mike, Riverton, Kan. Also surviving are two brothers, Paul Fanning, Baxter Springs, and Kenneth Fanning, Omaha, Neb. Grandchildren are Aaron Smith and wife Natalie, of Joplin, Mo., Stephanie Martin and husband, Andy, Austin, Texas, Jennifer Redman and husband, Rick, Austin, and Sarah Jones, Riverton. Helen is also survived by six great-grandchildren, Alyssa, Clementine, Austin, Nicholas, Lemuel and Talullah.
The family will greet friends from 7 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 19, at Derfelt Funeral Home, Baxter Springs. Funeral will be at Derfelt's Baxter Chapel at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 20. Burial will be in Lowell Cemetery, Lowell, Kan. Following the service, a luncheon will be provided at Spring River Assembly of God, Riverton, for family and friends.
