DIAMOND, Mo. —
Leonard J. Goss, age 91, of Diamond, Mo., passed away Saturday, Feb. 16, 2013, at the Spring River Christian Village, after a long illness.
Leonard was born Dec. 21, 1921, at Fair Point, S.D., to the late Edward L. Goss and Edna Bovier Goss and had lived in the Diamond area most of his life.
He was a U.S. Army veteran, serving from 1942 to 1946. He was a member of the D.A.V. and has been farming for many years.
He married Annie L. Marquez Dec. 17, 1963, at Miami, Okla. She survives him at the home.
Additional survivors include a son, Steve and his wife, Teresa, of Joplin; a daughter, Linda L. Hale, of Bentonville, Ark.; two grandchildren, Chris and Andrew; a step grandson, Travis; two step great-grandchildren, James and Aden; and a sister, Eleanor Bradshaw, of Carthage. In addition to his parents, Leonard was preceded in death by a daughter, Angela; and two brothers, Walter and Edwin.
Services with military rites for Leonard will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Parker Mortuary with Rev. Bob Simon officiating. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the mortuary.
