JOPLIN, Mo. —
Emily Maree Tuttle, age 87, Joplin, passed away on Wednesday, Feb. 20, 2013, at Mercy Hospital.
Emily was born June 11, 1925, in Miami, Fla., daughter of the late Walter Alton Schubert and Anna Maree Smith Schubert. She graduated from Miami Edison High School in Miami, and then married Phillip A. Tuttle on June 4, 1948, in Miami. The couple moved to California, where she raised four daughters and worked at Sequoia Hospital in Redwood City, Calif., from which she retired.
In addition to her parents, Emily was preceded in death by her husband, Phillip, on March 14, 2011; and a daughter, Kathleen Willis, who died Dec. 3, 2009.
Survivors include three daughters, Paula Goodman and husband, Steve, Portland, Ore., Pamela Mead, of Joplin, and Diane Frampton and husband, Robert, of Albany, Ore.; grandchildren, Heather Gates and husband, Jeremy, of Redwood City, Emily Tester, of Portland, Alana Tolliver and husband, Ron, of Pittsburg, Calif., Ivan Tester, of Portland, and Kevin Mead, of Joplin; great-granddaughter, Gracie Albert, of Campbell, Calif.; brother, William Schubert and wife, Marcelle, of Temecula, Calif.; and niece and nephew, Narayan (John) Schubert and family, Oakland, Calif., and Susan and Joe Payne, Yakima, Wash.
Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary. No formal services are planned at this time.
