LONDON, KY —
Edna Fiechter Cornett, 96, of London, Ky., died Sunday.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Don Cornett.
Mrs. Cornett was born July 7, 1916, in Laurel County, the daughter of the late Ernest and Mary Keller Fiechter. She was a member of First Christian Church in London.
Edna's first love was her family and was widely known for her good food and a kind and humble spirit. She was a charter member of the Swiss Descendants Club.
She is survived by three children, John (Sandra) Cornett, of London, Glenn (Gena) Cornett, of Georgetown, Ky., and Donna (Mike) Driver, of Joplin, Mo.; five grandchildren, Camille (Jason) Clemons, Jessica Cornett, Hayley Driver (and fiancée, Jennings Sirmon), Josh Driver and Rachel Driver; and four great-grandchildren, Brynn Driver and Audrey, McKenna and Olivia Clemons. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Johnny, Bob and Teddy Fiechter; and three sisters, Hilda Morgan, Alene Doughty and Rosetta Cook.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the House-Rawlings Funeral Home in London, with Brother John Wesley officiating. Burial will follow in the A.R. Dyche Memorial Cemetery. Visitation was Tuesday evening from 6 to 9 p.m. at House-Rawlings Funeral Home.
