CARTHAGE, Mo. —
Ethan Scott Giett, 23, of Carthage, passed away Wednesday, July 17, 2013.
Ethan was born Mar. 15, 1990, to Mary Kim LaRue and Scott Giett in Springfield, Mo. Ethan played baseball, basketball and golf. He was a member of the CHS Golf Team all four years of high school. Ethan received all conference and all district honors his junior year, and qualified for State in 2007. Ethan was a graduated from Carthage High School in 2008. He enjoyed watching Keaton and Alex in their many activities. Ethan was an avid golfer, hunter, fisherman and enjoyed all lake activities. Ethan attended Crowder for 2 years with the A+ program. He was a member of the United States Air Force.
Ethan is survived by his father, Scott Giett and Teresa, of Carthage; his mother, Mary Kim LaRue and step-father, David, of Carthage; three brothers, Keaton Giett, Camden Spruce both, of Carthage and Clayton Spruce, of Columbia, Mo.; two sisters, Alexandra Giett and Claire Giett both, of Carthage; his paternal grandmother, Mary Irick, of Joplin; his maternal grandmother, Marlene White, of Pierce City; five aunts and uncles, Jadene and Bob Corum, of Sarcoxie, Tom and Terri Gripka, of Pierce City, David and Tonjia Everts, of LaRussell, Steve Giett, of Joplin and Cheryl and Gerald Henning, of Joplin; and numerous cousins. Ethan was preceded by his paternal grandfather, Leo Irick in 2000; and his maternal grandfather, J.D. Everts in 1996.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, July 24, at Carterville Christian Church, Carterville, Mo. Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, July 23, at the Ulmer Funeral Home.
